Sergei Voloboev is Emerging Markets FX and Rates Strategist, EMEA at Bloomberg Intelligence. He has extensive experience in the field of fixed income research and strategy, as well as macroeconomic and political analysis, with a particular focus on the European time-zone emerging markets. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Sergei headed fixed income strategy at ITI Capital and also worked at Credit Suisse, Norvik Banka UK and Nomura Securities in senior research roles. He began his career with the USSR Foreign Ministry in Baghdad and later monitored Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait out of its Moscow headquarters. Sergei earned a master’s degree in international and development economics from Yale University and an honors diploma in international economics from MGIMO University in Moscow. He has also completed an advanced Arabic language course at Kuwait University.
